Focus and experience

Jordan has extensive experience in manager evaluation in the North American middle market and in creating value for portfolio companies, having sat on dozens of advisory boards. Before joining New 2ND Capital, he spent 10 years at AlpInvest Partners focused on manager underwriting and primary fund investments in the Americas. Before that, he was an associate director in the private funds group at UBS Investment Bank where he focused on raising middle-market private equity funds. Jordan began his career at Goldman Sachs.

Jordan holds a BS in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Clay spent three years at AlpInvest Partners on the secondary team where he executed a variety of transactions including spinouts, restructurings, secondary directs, and traditional LP purchases. At AlpInvest, Clay worked alongside New 2ND Capital founder Tjarko Hektor. He began his career at UBS Investment Bank.

Clay received a BS in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Travis oversaw capital formation and investor relations at TZP Group. He previously led the investor relations and fundraising effort for NewSpring private equity and private debt strategies and served as director of marketing at Coatue for public‑ and private‑market funds. He began his career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley.

Travis holds a BA in geography and Jewish studies from Dartmouth College.

Jennifer joined New 2ND Capital from Katalyst Securities where she served as executive assistant. Before that, she worked in similar roles at with SAB Capital Management and with BlackRock. Jennifer has more than two decades’ experience in executive support roles within the investment industry.

Jennifer holds a BA in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Tjarko is the founder of New 2ND Capital and is responsible for firm management. Before founding New 2ND Capital, Tjarko spent 18 years at AlpInvest Partners (and its predecessors) where he founded, built, and led the firm’s secondary program, starting with a single employee and ending his tenure with approximately 25 investment professionals and more than $8.5 billion of capital invested. At AlpInvest, he also served as a member of the Operating Committee, observer on the firm’s board, and chairman of the Global Investment Committee, where he oversaw investments made by the secondary, primary funds, and co-investment groups.

Before his time at AlpInvest Partners, Tjarko was a direct private equity investor at Parnib Holding in the Netherlands. He started his career at De Nationale Investeringsbank, also in the Netherlands.

Tjarko holds an MSc in business economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Dutch law degree.

Abraaz joined New 2ND Capital from Cobepa, where he was a private equity associate focused on evaluating and underwriting direct investments in the business and consumer services sector and working with portfolio companies on strategic improvements and add-on acquisitions. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at Raymond James in the Financial Services group.

Abraaz holds a BS in commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Shahkar was a private equity associate with The Firmament Group in New York, where he focused on due diligence of add-on acquisitions by portfolio companies and financial modeling. Shahkar also worked as a private equity associate with EVE Partners in Dallas and as an investment banking analyst with Greenhill & Co. 

Shahkar holds a BBA in finance with a minor in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Dawid was a private equity analyst at Firelight Capital Partners focused on due diligence, strategic improvements at portfolio companies, and financial modeling. Previously, he worked at Dimension Capital Management where he was responsible for manager evaluation and underwriting direct investments in private and public companies.

Dawid earned a BS in finance from the University of Central Florida and an MS in finance from the University of Miami.

Isabelle is responsible for financial analysis and reporting at New 2ND Capital. She previously was at FTI Consulting, primarily within the Blockchain and Digital Assets practice, where she leveraged her background in data analytics to drive complex investigations and litigation strategy. She also worked as a strategy and business intelligence associate at Fitch Solutions where she supported strategic business initiatives with data-driven insights and automating recurring reporting.

Isabelle earned a BA in quantitative social science and government from Dartmouth College.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Robert was a private equity analyst at CCMP Capital Advisors focusing on the consumer and industrials sectors.

Robert received a BBA in finance and a BA in economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Yindran was an investment associate at Coller Capital primarily focused on LP purchases and other secondaries transactions. Previously, he was a private equity analyst at Rockwood Equity Partners focused on due diligence, strategic and operational improvements at portfolio companies, and financial modeling.

Yindran holds a BS in finance and accounting from the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Jack joined New 2ND Capital from TIFF Investment Management, where he was an associate in the private equity group focused on primaries, secondaries, and co‑investments.

Jack holds an AB in economics and biology from Brown University.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Dan was a founding partner at Top Tier Capital Partners, where he helped lead the firm’s spinout from Paul Capital. At Top Tier, Dan headed the firm’s secondary and co-investment programs, developing an innovative secondary strategy focused on early-stage investments. Prior to Top Tier, Dan invested private capital at GE Asset Management for the company’s US pension fund and external institutional clients, and before that he served in a variety of managerial and operational roles at several divisional GE businesses.

Dan holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Mildred was a deal assistant at PJT Park Hill, a division of PJT Partners Inc., focused on providing fundraising services for private equity funds. Previously, she worked in the Wealth Management group at Calamos Investments.

Mildred holds a BS in finance from Southern New Hampshire University.

Evert is a seasoned private equity executive with more than 20 years’ experience in a variety of roles. Before joining New 2ND Capital, he was at AlpInvest, Carlyle’s solutions group, for 15 years, where he worked closely alongside New 2ND Capital founder/partner Tjarko Hektor and partner Jordan Bradley on numerous secondaries investments as well as primary fund investments in the Americas. He also was involved in raising commingled private equity funds and separate managed accounts totaling more than $20 billion.

Evert started his career with Freshfields in Amsterdam and Simpson Thacher in New York. He is a member of the investment committee of the endowment of Friends Seminary, a K-12 day school in New York City.

Evert holds a law degree from the University of Amsterdam and an MCJ degree from the New York University School of Law.

Before joining New 2ND Capital, Lu was an accounting and finance manager at Silver Lake Partners. She previously served as a vice president in the Alternative Investment Service group at Bank of New York Mellon and as an associate manager at SS&C. She started her career at Deloitte.

Lu received an MS in accountancy from Pace University. She is a certified public accountant.

Angela joined New 2ND Capital after serving as head of operations and finance at 400 Capital Management. She previously was chief financial officer at Structured Portfolio Management and was a controller in the Global Access portfolios at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She began her career at Grant Thornton.

Angela received a BBA in accountancy from Baruch College. She is a certified public accountant.

Kendra joined New 2ND Capital after working as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan in the leveraged finance group.

Kendra earned a BBA in finance and a BA in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
